For some reason I feel like I am in a really big pony mood.
Especially for the two original princesses :|
Well, more especially for luna.

...Why she's sleeping during the night idk.

There are a TON of pictures of Luna and Tia sleeping. a ton. from young to old. xD So I decided to throw one into the pot aswell.

YAY FOR SPONGE BACKGROUNDS! AND SPLATTER BRUSHES PRETENDING TO BE STARS.
Also: My pony anatomy needs work. I know that. I have drawn wolves pretty much exclusively for like...13 years so going from that to delicate and short hair equines is kinda difficult.
But no matter!

Please comment if you like it :3 I do love hearing comments and critiques. even something simple would make my heart melt <33

Thank you!

This is a very sweet and gentle drawing - it makes the viewer feel at peace. The lack of context (background) I believe actually adds very well to the image, of Luna in a peaceful sleep. It actually reminds me of a dream sequence, or perhaps whilst she was alone on the moon, recalling the comfort of her big sister, Celestia, whilst they were young. The colours blend very well against the ponies' bodies.

The shape of the horses as they lie together has been moulded together very nicely, and the presence of Celestia whilst she cuddles Luna has been placed in very good image balance with the other pony. The body of Luna is one of my favourite representations of her, she genuinely looks very young and vulnerable, like a baby. Which is often hard to capture with Luna, as she is such a strong and capable character.

Considering that the artist has only just started drawing ponies, I think that they have achieved I very good body structure. Ponies are not as long as actual horses, so they can lend themselves to appear smaller like dogs or wolves. The body shapes do not appear odd or out of proportion.

My favourite part of the drawing is the shading, which has been done very well. The shadow against Celestia as she looks down at Luna reflects her largeness in contrast to her sister. It also establishes her placement. It is the shading of the shadows that creates the life in this drawing, and the warmth of Celestia as she protects her sister. A fantastic drawing.
